Our work aims to increase empathy, agency, and belonging for all involved: students, educators, and parents/caregivers.
School Change
Previous clients have worked with our team members for 1 to 5 school years, usually with a particular focus, such as:
- designing a strategic plan
- creating systems for a network of schools to work more closely together
- improving belonging for marginalized student populations
- creating project based learning curriculum used across a network of schools
Evaluation
Previous evaluation work includes:
- 360 degree school leader evaluation, including feedback from parents/caregivers, students, and teachers/staff
- evaluating student study habits
- working with teachers to co-create a walkthrough tool for curriculum quality
- designing new qualitative or quantitative evaluation tools to evaluate the success of a school policy change
Community Engagement
We have visited with, interviewed, and analyzed feedback from constituencies within a school community in order to:
- Determine a school’s position on an upcoming ballot question
- Understand failed policy changes and revise the policy to move forward with community support
- Co-create a strategic plan for a school network
Professional Development
Much of our work requires teacher ideas and support to come to fruition. We give professional development on topics ranging from:
- curriculum development
- using a newly designed evaluation or assessment system
- strategies to support your community in increasing belonging
- strategies to increase empathy (including in service learning projects, in curriculum design, and in parent engagement)
- strategies to increase student agency
